Abstract
Chaotic emission is observed from a 3.39-μm He-Ne laser. We find different sequences leading from coherent to chaotic states depending on the laser frequency. In particular, all three theoretically known sequences—"period doubling," "Ruelle-Takens," and "intermittency"—are observed. Keywords
