Abstract
The energy, monetary and environmental implications of using inert gases as cavity infill in sealed multiple glazed windows were examined using recent energy consumption data. It was found that the embodied energy and subsequent atmospheric emissions attributable to the inert gas production easily offset the energy savings achieved as a result of the reduced space heating demand. Keywords
