Abstract
As the boating season draws to an end, many new and experienced owners will be wondering if it was all worthwhile and whether or not to do it all again next year. In 1974 there will be over six million registered boats afloat in the United States, excluding most sailboats. There will be well over a hundred thousand registered in Massachusetts. There are measurable environmental costs in both air and water pollution from internal-combustion engines. More obvious human spoor includes floating feces, toilet paper and other body refuse over a base of less offensive but more durable bottles and cans. . . .Keywords
