Restudy of the Schoharie and Esopus formations in New York State

Abstract
The Esopus formation is restricted, the beds formerly classed as upper Esopus being separated into the new Sharon Springs formation, which may be locally separated from overlying and underlying beds of glauconite bands. Instead of disappearing to the south, the Schoharie grit changes rapidly to a shaly and cherty facies, here termed the Leeds fades, and thickens as it approaches the Pennsylvania border. The faunas of these formations are listed.
