Abstract
An increase in hepatic δ-aminolevulinic acid synthetase is demonstrated in a patient with cutaneous porphyria induced by stilbestrol. A genetically determined increase in this rate-limiting enzyme appears to be the basic abnormality in all of the hepatic porphyrias. Keywords
