Abstract
The maintenance of therapeutic blood levels for periods up to 4 days by using procaine penicillin G in oil has suggested a practical usage of it in tetanus prophylaxis. Tetanus-infected mice showed a reduction in mortality from 96.8% to [image]16-22% when penicillin procaine in oil was admd. within 6 hrs. after infection. The development of symptoms and resulting deaths were retarded to a significant degree also. Keywords
