Abstract
The onset of FSH [follicle stimulating hormone] synthesis in the embryonic pituitary gland of the rat was studied by a horseradish peroxidase-labeled antibody method. The 1st FSH-containing cells appeared on the 20th day of embryonic life. From that day on, FSH cells increased rapidly in number. In adult animals some pituitary cells reacted with both anti-HCG [human chorionic gonadotropin] and anti-FSH sera, indicating the simultaneous presence of LH [luteinizing hormone] and FSH in the same cell. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
