Abstract
At least 10 million adults in the U.S. suffer from urinary incontinence, including at least half of all nursing home residents. The annual cost is over $10 billion and the psychosocial burden is enormous. Nursing can play an important role in reducing incidence and continuance of this condition by early identification, thorough assessment and appropriate intervention. Keywords
