Abstract
In this paper we simultaneously prove a conjecture of G. W. Whitehead concerning symmetric product spectra and extend the epimorphism of the Kahn-Priddy Theorem to a long exact sequence. This sequence can be interpreted as a minimal resolution of the integral Eilenberg-MacLane spectrum by suspension spectra. Keywords
