${\mathrm{O}}^{16}(d, n){\mathrm{F}}^{17}$ and ${\mathrm{Ca}}^{40}(d, n){\mathrm{Sc}}^{41}$ Reactions by Time of Flight

A modified time-of-flight spectrometer has been used to check and correct results previously reported for the ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}(d, n){\mathrm{F}}^{17}$ reaction and to determine the $Q$ values of four low-lying states in ${\mathrm{Sc}}^{41}$ by means of the ${\mathrm{Ca}}^{40}(d, n){\mathrm{Sc}}^{41}$ reaction. The "overlap" method of measuring the energies of neutrons is described.
