Abstract
Retrograde amnesia (RA) produced by post‐trial lesions of mouse anterior limbic field was found to be inversely related to trial‐lesion intervals. Control experiments demonstrated that the RA was not due to response bias, seizures, spreading depression, or generalized electrical stimulation. Damage of the motor cortex failed to produce RA. The results support the contention that small lesions of the anterior limbic field selectively interfere with memory storage processes without disrupting retieval of memory. Keywords
