Abstract
Technology and economics are moving us swiftly into a new kind of information‐rich environment. The need now is for strategic social decisions which will exploit the full benefits of these converging forces. This article explores the framework in which these decisions will be made. This article is an excerpt from The Coming Information Age: An Overview of Technology, Economy, and Policy by Wilson P. Dizard, now in publication and to appear in March 1982.
