Abstract
Thc purpose of this paper is to present a survey of ublished data on chemical analysis of atmospheric precipitation; to discuss dif- ferent cycles proposed for inorganic compounds in atmospheric precipitation and, finally, to assess the importance of these com- pounds from different points of view. Investigations of rainwater with a view to determine atmospheric pollution in industrial areas will be mentioned incidentally but n o results will be given in detail as they concern only small areas and abnormal conditions. The literature on this special subject is, furthermore, rather voluminous and should well deserve a separate review. DOI: 10.1111/j.2153-3490.1952.tb01007.xKeywords
