Abstract
Traunts living in a depressed urban area are compared with other absentees from school living in the same area. Few differences in the social and financial circumstances of the 2 groups, but considerable differences in the children''s behavior and in family relationships were found. The results are discussed in the light of other research which distinguishes truants from school refusers. Keywords
