Abstract
This paper considers the problem of calculating the eddy current losses in a rectangular conducting slab in a magnetic field which would be uniform if the slab were not present. The length axis is perpendicular to the uniform field, but there may be an angular displacement' about this axis. A rigorous numerical solution is obtained for an infinite length slab. An approximate correction is given for finite length. The results are presented in the form of a simple formula, and two curves of correction factors. The methods used are generally applicable to eddy current problems. Keywords
