Abstract
A Facile Synthesis of S2N2The reaction of S4N4with S2N2· 2 AlCl3(1) at 80° C in high vacuum results in the formation of S2N2. The advantage of this method in comparison to the direct pyrolysis of S4N4at 300°C is the reduction of temperature to 80°C. On safety arguments, S2N2has now become available on a preparative scale. The spectra of S2N2· 2 AlCl3are discussed. Keywords
