Abstract
The relationship between the Einstein-Mayer unified field theory and the projective relativity theory is developed and it is shown that the field equations (47) of the former theory may be interpreted as conditions that the connection employed be reducible to a symmetric form by means of a suitable non-holonomic factor change. Grounds are found for questioning an assumption made by Schouten and Van Danzig.
