Abstract
A multichannel extension of a hybrid algebraic close-coupling approximation, first suggested by Oberoi and Nesbet (1973), is used to calculate electron impact excitation cross sections for the n=1 to n=2 transitions in He+. Results close to the n=2 threshold are in good agreement with previous theoretical work, but in the case of the 1s-2s cross section lie substantially above experimental results. Keywords
