Abstract
A technique is described for the preparation of C films suitable as support for tissue sections for electron microscopy. Carbon is evaporated onto grids previously coated with formvar films, the formvar being removed subsequently by immersion in ethylene dichloride. The C substrate resulting provides an essentially indestructible support of extremely high stability which is satisfactory for high resolution microscopy. Keywords
