Frequency of Red Cell Adenosine Deaminase and 6-Phosphogluconate Dehydrogenase in a Sample of the Turkish Population

Abstract
The adenosine deaminase (ADA) and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6-PGD) polymorphisms were examined in cord blood samples of Turkish neonates. The frequency of the genes ADA2 and 6-PGDc were found to be 0.096 and 0.001, respectively. The occurrence of a new ADA phenotype in two unrelated subjects is reported.
