Abstract
The structural, electronic and magnetic properties were investigated for the high T c superconductor (Y1-x Ba x )3Cu3O7-y where x was in the range of 0.0 to 0.9. Superconduction was found for samples with 0.4≤x≤0.8. The transition temperature of the single phase with x=0.7 was 92 K. In contrast with the previously reported (La1-x Ba x )2CuO4-y system, the replacement of yttrium ions by barium ions was not observed for the Y-Ba-Cu-O system. Keywords
