Further Accurate Representations of Partial Differential Equations by Finite-difference Methods

Abstract
A fourth-order finite-difference scheme recently introduced for the solution of second-order partial differential equations is developed. The resulting scheme retains all the advantages of the original, but is more satisfactory in that the simultaneous algebraic equations to be solved are more amenable to solution by numerical techniques in many cases. Some numerical solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations are considered.
