Abstract
The phase diagram of a system consisting of hard particles with an attractive Yukawa interaction is computed by Monte Carlo simulation. From the results of these simulations we can estimate that the liquid–vapor coexistence curve disappears when the range of the attractive part of the Yukawa potential is less than approximately one‐sixth of the hard‐core diameter. The results of the simulations are compared with predictions based on first order perturbation theory. Keywords
