Basic principles of accurate dynamic current mirrors

Abstract
Basic principles and limitations of accurate dynamic current mirrors based on dynamic analogue techniques are presented. The accuracy of dynamic current mirrors is independent of the mismatch of the transistors building up the mirror, because the same transistor is sequentially used at the input and the output of the mirror. Limitations of such dynamic current mirrors and the influence of clock phase delays are shown through simulated, analytical and experimental results. Improvements are proposed that allow the performance of dynamic current mirrors to be increased.
