Coping Skills among Highly Gifted Adolescents

Abstract
The Early Entrance Program at California State University, Los Angeles has been providing the opportunity for full-time college study to young adolescents for the past four years. This paper outlines some of the most consistent problems these children present, and the kinds of coping skills they have learned in the effort to adjust to the college setting. Suggestions are made for the use of these case studies by others who are counseling the highly gifted young student.
