Abstract
Preliminary small-scale field tests of DDT during 1944 for the control of the corn flea beetle, Chaetocnema pulicaria, on sweet corn and potato leaf-hopper, Empoasca fabae, on alfalfa and peanuts were favorable. Further information is needed on the best DDT mixtures, dosages, and treatment schedules, and on any residue hazards, that may result from the use of DDT on the crops tested. Of most significance in the tests against the potato leafhopper was the residual effect of the DDT, which seemed to prevent nymphal development of this leaf- hopper almost entirely on the alfalfa and peanut foliage treated with this insecticide. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
