Abstract
A new torsional pendulum allowing the measurement of internal friction as a function of frequency on a wide frequency range is described. It is shown that both high and low values of Q−1 may be simply obtained by phase lag measurements, at any frequency between 10−5 and 10 Hz. Some experimental spectra, obtained at different temperatures, are shown to illustrate the accuracy of the method. Keywords
