Abstract
Family therapy is a distinctive treatment modality, differing in techniques, objectives, and problem definitions from other modalities. Integrating it into a social work curriculum poses several difficulties because of this fact. In this paper several themes in the training literature are isolated and problems associated with assisting learners to shift their practice orientation from individuals to families are discussed
