Abstract
A versatile synthesis of α-alkyl-α-amino ketones 5 and cyclic α-amino ketones 7 based on the selective mono-α-alkylation and C(α), N-cycloalkylation of α-tert-butoxycarbonylamino ketones 2 and subsequent acidic hydrolysis is described. Key words: α-tert-butoxycarbonylamino ketones, α-alkyl-α-amino ketones, 2-acylpyrrolidines, and 2-acylpiperidines.
