Abstract
This paper focuses on design difficulties encountered in the implementation of effective DSS. The key point is that the standard MIS development life-cycle approach is dysfunctional in a DSS design setting. Four major ideas are introduced: system/problem migration, subset evolution, soft/hard capabilities, and weak/strong design process. Keywords
