Abstract
Summary Of 152 cases of Acanthocheilonema perstans infections in a Uganda labor force, 39 were hospitalized because of symptoms which in 7 cases were unusually severe. Treatment with diethylcarbamazine by mouth even in large doses failed to achieve a permanent cure, and injection of the drug into the abdominal cavity was tried in 2 cases. The first relapsed but the other, which received a combined oral and intraperitoneal course of treatment was probably cured, since the blood remained negative for microfilaria for seven months, when examination was discontinued. Keywords
