Abstract
The faradaic transfer behaviour of the charged species formed in the system of Cd2+ and some other divalent metal ions extracted by 1,2-dichloroethane with quinolin-8-ol (HQ) as complexing agent was examined electrochemically. It follows from the experimental findings that after the HQ distributes from the organic into the aqueous phase, M(HQ)2 2+ and neutral species are formed there and the former is involved in the faradaic transfer process from the aqueous to the organic phase.
