Abstract
Barium titanate (BaTiO3) powder was mechanically ground over the period of 1 min∼100 h in air using an agate mortar and pestle, and changes in the crystal structure and dielectric properties were studied. The particle size of the BaTiO3 powder was reduced in the early stage of grinding. With increasing the grinding time for more than 100min, the crystallinity of the BaTiO3 powder was lowered and the dielectric constant decreased. However, dielectric dissipation factor (tan δ) and AC impedance of the BaTiO3 powder did not show significant change associated with grinding. Keywords
