Abstract
3 days’ treatment of vaginal candidosis with imidazole derivatives has been shown to be effective and well tolerated. A dosage form of terconazole has been developed specifically for this treatment duration and 80 mg ovules have proved effective. We have performed a double-blind multicentre study comparing different doses of terconazole in 164 patients with biologically proven vaginal candidosis. After 3 days of treatment with 80 mg ovules in 49 patients, the mycological cure rate was 80%. Tolerability was good since only 4% of the patients experienced side-effects (local burning). Keywords
