Abstract
A pulse shape discrimination circuit for solid state particle detectors has been developed that will distinguish between ionizing particles stopping completely within the junction region and those passing beyond. It is based upon the fact that the first kind of particles produce a fast rising pulse in the order of nanoseconds whereas the second kind have an added diffusion component in the microsecond region. A circuit description and representative spectra are given. Keywords
