Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between the skewness in the distributions of genotypic and environmental values and the linearity of heritability in terms of the regression of genotypic values on phenotypic values. It was shown that in some cases the skewness of these distributions is a cause of curvilinearity in heritability. A practical way to utilize the information of curvilinear heritability is given. Keywords
