Abstract
Amylase clearances and excretion were determined in 10 male and 3 female human subjects in whom diuresis had been induced by ingestion of 1500 ml of water each. Serum and urine amylase were determined using Van Loon''s amyloclastic method. Amylase clearance increased only slightly and amylase excretion remained constant during water diuresis. The mean amylase clearance in this group was 2.80 ml/minute and mean excretion 1.70 units/minute.Keywords
