LONG TIME STUDIES OF METASTATIC CERVICAL LYMPH NODES TREATED WITH IRRADIATION

Abstract
This paper is written in an effort to show that many patients with metastatic cervical lymph nodes can be cured for long periods of time with our combined low intensity radium needle implantations plus orthovoltage roentgen-ray therapy. The entire treatment for one area is given in 7 days. The equipment is relatively inexpensive and the hospital stay of only 8 days reduces this expense so that most patients can afford it. It must be admitted that experience and know-how play an important role in this type of therapy and it is also very important to know what a well trained surgeon can do in eliminating troublesome radiation sequelae.
