Abstract
This study demonstrates that both shellac and its ester improve considerably most of the mechanical properties of SBR. Shellac-ester functions more favorably in this regard. Both these materials can be used as a reinforcing filler for SBR especially if the end product is not intended to be used in service demanding severe abrasion. Keywords
