Abstract
SUMMARY The study of a collection of 86 chiton (Mollusca Polyplacophora) specimens from the intertidal and shallow subtidal zones of Mogadiscio, Gesira, Bender Mtoni, and Sar Uanle, in southern Somalia, revealed the presence of 11 species, two new to science: Ischnochiton yerburyi (Smith, 1891), Chaetopleura chelazziana n. sp., Callochiton vanninii n. sp., Chiton salihafui Bullock, 1972, Rhyssoplax affinis (Issel, 1869), Tonicia sueziensis (Reeve, 1847), Onithochiton literatus (Krauss, 1848), Acanthopleura gemmata (Blainville, 1825), Acanthopleura brevispinosa (Sowerby, 1840), Acanthochitona cf.
