The biochemical reactions given by members of the Serratia group

Abstract
Results of studies on the biochemical reactions of 50 strains of Serratia indicate that the strains compose a homogeneous group. The characteristics of the group are enumerated. By means of these characteristics, Serratia may be differentiated from and assigned relative positions to other Enterobacteriaceae. Forty-seven of the 50 cultures studied belonged to one or another of 6 previously described O-antigen groups.
