Abstract
Communication apprehension appears in several forms, most notably oral and written. It is a problem faced by thousands, probably millions, of children and young people in our schools. It may be the most significant “learning disability” to be found in our schools. The classroom consequences are reduced communication on the part of the student with both teacher and peers and a significant reduction in learning as measured by grades assigned in small classes, overall average, and standardized achievement tests. Keywords
