Abstract
In all problems of stream sanitation involving the maintenance of an adequate reserve supply of dissolved oxygen for the preservation of fish life or the prevention of nuisance, there are two major factors to be considered as determining the limiting degree of pollution of streams which is consistent with satisfying a given reserve oxygen requirement. One of these factors is the rate of biochemical deoxygenation of the stream water, proceeding in accordance with laws which have been described by Mr. Theriault. Keywords
