Abstract
Regimen of isoniazid alone (300 mg daily) in patients with minimal and noncavitary moderately advanced tuberculosis was definitely inferior to that of isoniazid and p-amino salicylic acid. Both regimens are extremely effective; however, difficulties due to PAS toxicity were sufficiently frequent to negate its beneficial therapeutic effect. Use of isoniazid as a single drug is still considered to be effective therapy under circumstances which make addition of PAS undesirable.
