Abstract
We have studied ferroelectric liquid crystal mixtures of naphthalene and phenyl pyrimidine derivatives, and found that the layer structure can be controlled by changing mixture ratios. By decreasing temperature, a bookshelf layer structure with the optical tilt angle of 5° is realized spontaneously in a mixture containing 40 wt% naphthalene derivative. Keywords
