Abstract
The individual and average bond ionicities of LiAlO2, LiGaO2, LiInS2, LiInSe2 and LiInTe2 are evaluated from spectroscopic data. It is found that in these compounds the LiCVI bond is essentially ionic in nature. It is shown that the structural properties of the compounds can be understood in terms of the average bond parameters. Keywords
