Abstract
A study was done on 15 children, 2 1/2 to 12 years of age, in whom serologic evidence of California encephalitis virus infection was demonstrated. All of the children had associated central nervous system illnesses, the majority of which were encephalitic in nature. Specimens from these children were studied for other viruses capable of causing similar disease, ie, mumps, herpes simplex, and enteroviruses, and were negative. Keywords
