Abstract
While charge-coupled devices (CCDs) are used extensively in many image sensor applications, they are also capable of performing many basic signal processing functions. This paper presents some analog CCD circuitry for implementing an edge detection algorithm and a boundary-preserving image filter. In particular, the parallel, pipelined architecture is introduced as an efficient architecture for integrating CCD imagers with analog CCD processors for high-throughput image processing applications. Keywords
