Abstract
The use of especially purified cholesterol-Cl4 and cholesterol-H3, free of cholestanol-H3, in feeding rabbits resulted in completely the same type of absorption for both substances. This corrects earlier experiments (Proceed. Soc. Exp. Biol. and Med. 1960, vl03, 614.) in which cholesterol-H3 seemingly was deposited in smaller amounts than cholesterol-Cl4. Special experiments with cholestanol-H3 showed, that this substance, which is present in cholesterol-H3 prepared by Wilzbach''s method, causes the discrepancy in the absorption of the 2 differently labelled cholesterols. Keywords
