Micromorphology and specificity of orally induced flare-up reactions in nickel-sensitive patients

Abstract
Micromorphology and specificity of orally induced flare-up reactions of 4-7 wk old Ni patch test sites, compared with control test sites with tuberculin and benzalkonium, were investigated in Ni-sensitive patients who had pompholyx. Of the test sites, only that treated with Ni flared after ingestion of Ni, as did the hand eczema. The clinical picture and light microscopical findings agreed and were both eczematous.
